Oggie Gonzalez has entered his Snowspeeder in the 2018 MOTY Online Contest. Here is what he has to say about his build.

This is a 1/48 scale model of the Star Wars Snowspeeder. Various techniques were used to weather the model. These include the salt/hairspray technique to achieve the stippled, chipped appearance. Starship wash and Streaking fluids from AMMO MIG to darken the panel lines and for add dirt and grime to various sections. Scorching and dark streaks on the hull/wings were accomplished using the Tamiya Weathering Kit. Krycell Snow/Ice Wash from was utilized to mimic the appearance of ice and snow along crevices and corners. I also added a light coat across the windows to give the appearance of frost.

The display base featured here depicts two explosions underneath the fighter. This was done utilizing cotton balls, paint, and 5mm flickering LEDs. The base was created using plaster of paris then detailed and winterized using snow powder from Precision Ice And Snow.

I have been building models since I was about 8 years old. As many of us did, I picked up the hobby from my father. Without him, I would probably have never known this great hobby. I like to build everything from Military Models to Starships. Right now my passion is to build and light science fiction models.
