Lee Chambers has entered his The War Of The Worlds Martian War Machine Diorama in the SciFiantasy 2018 MOTY Online Contest. Here is what he has to say about his build.

1/32 scale Lunar Models The War of the Worlds Martian War Machine Diorama

This diorama was my way of breathing new life into an old 80’s vac form kit. I added a lighting kit and I picked up a railway station lodge in the same scale, I had to add a bucket load of details to it and give it some “war” damage and I also added some flickering LED’s to simulate small fires burning and the electronic eye. I added the umbilical from the ship and some more debris to the diorama, I added a white smd to the eye using epoxy and painted in the three colors. The paints I used were Tamiya clear green, Tamiya clear red, Tamiya clear blue, Tamiya copper, Tamiya dark copper and Tamiya smoke to give the ship some light weathering effects. I also used some dark dirt and light dirt pigments around the diorama for the ground effects.

I have been building models since I was about 8 years old. As many of us did, I picked up the hobby from my father. Without him, I would probably have never known this great hobby. I like to build everything from Military Models to Starships. Right now my passion is to build and light science fiction models.
